Builder

I read with interest the letter to the editor about a local builder (I won't say the name, don't want to be sued) who took on jobs and then filed bankruptcy.

I, too, had hired a person to do some work for me. He came highly recommended and had lots of references. He was to put on a new roof and a room addition and build a garage.

He started the job, got the garage and room addition done, and completed the roof. No problems other than his guys not showing up a couple of times until 10 o'clock. I was happy with the work. I then had him put an entry door on the back of the house. He put it in but did not get the doorknob on and was going to come back in a couple days and do it. After three days I called and could not reach him. I kept getting his answering machine.

I heard he was in the hospital so I called up there to see and he was there. So I went in there to visit him since my granddaughter works there I could see her, too, and kill two birds with one stone. We visited for a while and as I was sitting there the doctor came in and must have assumed I was family and began to talk freely in front of me. As an older person who is no stranger to health problems, I was surprised to hear the extent of his illness. I felt a little bad about being upset about my doorknob.

Anyway, I'm not a believer in bankruptcy unless you really don't have a choice. And the letter I read seemed to question his Christianity. We all sin, we all make mistakes. No one knows the heart, judge not lest ye be judged.

Take care and go, Obama, cause we need the change.
