Buford Morris Hoover, 85, died July 11, 2007, in Miller's Merry Manor.

He was born March 18, 1922, in Kansas, Mo., to Buford and Opal Morris Hoover. On May 7, 1944, in Valparaiso, he married Marilyn Miller, who died in 1991. On Aug. 12, 1993, at Lake Tahoe, Calif., he married Jean Ginder Peterson, who survives.

He was a lab technician for the city of Long Beach, Calif., retiring in 1984. From 1993-2000 he divided his time between California and Indiana, moving to Warsaw permanently in 2003. He was a World War II Navy Pharmacy Mate. He was active in SPEBSQSA (Barbershop chorus and quartets) for 47 years in Gary and Long Beach, Calif., and Hemet, Calif. In later years he was part of the Senior Melloaries Group, Warsaw. He was a member of United Methodist Church, Sun City, Calif.

Also surviving are a son, James Terry Hoover, Sun City; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Mary L.) Lambert, Walla Walla, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Paul (Lynn) Keresztes, St. Cloud, Fla., and Teri Cummings, Marietta, Ga.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
