Friends of the Bell Memorial Library

The friends of the Mentone Bell Memorial Library are conducting a membership drive. Friends of the Library are people who know that a community with a first rate library is a better place to live. Friends of the library bring together involved, caring people who are willing to work for excellent libraries.

The purpose of the group is to seek financial support, when needed, for the many activities that are not included in the budget for the operation of the library. Volunteers or friends are needed to help plan activities for fundraisers and help the staff in any way they can.

To become a friend, call or visit the Bell Memorial Library and let them know you would be willing to serve with the group.

Join Madcap Puppets' Adventure At The Library

Dare to enter the world of "once upon a time" with Alvis and Sydney, two kids attempting to unlock the secrets of their uncle's mysterious clock shop.

Each time they climb through his magical grandfather clock, they are swept away to a land of exciting stories like "The Frog Prince" (Germany), "Sanji and the Tiger" (India) and "The Feathered Ogre" (Italy) - each more heart-pounding than the last. But these adventures may trap them in the clock forever. Can they escape? Not without help from the audience.

Join Warsaw Community Public Library Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. for an exciting adventure with Madcap Productions Puppet Theatre.

Madcap is a national touring company that creates high-quality, live puppet theater entertainment and education for young audiences during their formative years when creative imaginations are developing. Madcap's founder, the late Jerry Handorf, worked with Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets, studying puppet manipulation and construction, and was a puppeteer on Sesame Street. He returned to his native Cincinnati and, with Beth Kattelman, founded Madcap Productions Puppet Theatre in 1981.

Through the years Madcap has provided special performances with giant puppets and symphony orchestras, pops orchestras and chamber ensembles including the Cincinnati Pops, Oregon Symphony and the Idaho Falls Symphony Society.
