Brenda S. Oaks Campbell, 56, Claypool, went to be with Jesus at 12:46 a.m. Nov. 27, 2014, at DuPont Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was a three-time cancer survivor.
She was born Feb. 14, 1958, to Elmer and Vernie Smith Oaks. On Sept. 2, 1977, in Warsaw, she married Richard Campbell Sr., who survives in Claypool.
She was a graduate of Argos High School. She worked for the United Postal Service for 22 years, retiring in 2014. She was the First Lady of New Vision Church Ministries that she and her husband founded due to their love for Jesus and wanting people to know him as their Lord and Savior.
Also surviving are three children: Jamie Barhydt, Warsaw; Dawn Campbell, South Whitley; and Elijah Campbell, Goshen; two grandchildren, Jayla and Jeffrey Barhydt; a stepson, Ricky (and spouse Tracy) Campbell Jr., Warsaw; two step-grandchildren, Kyle and Cain Campbell; six brothers: David, Larry (and spouse Paula), Michael (and spouse Juli), Mark (and spouse Lori), Johnny and James (and spouse Susan) Oaks; three sisters: Wilma Rock, Pearlie Oaks, Lorene (and spouse James) Hetler; and 28 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Michelle Robertson officiating. Burial is in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
