Boy Shot With Pellet; Cops Investigate

Around 12:32 a.m. Sunday, Robert R. Sherman Sr. called the Kosciusko County Dispatch Center to report that his son was shot in the chin with a pellet gun.
While officers were on their way to the residence at EMS B31 Lane, the Kosciusko County Dispatch Center received a call that the man who reported the incident was on the front step of his residence with a pellet gun, yelling at first responders.[[In-content Ad]]When Deputy Travis Shively arrived at the residence, first responders were treating the boy, and the pellet gun had been put away.
Sherman told police that one shot was fired, and it hit his son in the chin and broke glass in a window at the residence.
The boy told police he had been walking the dog when he was hit in the chin and heard the glass shatter. When asked where the shot came from, the boy pointed to the west and said "Pic-A-Spot," a nearby campground.
The boy was treated by emergency responders and released to his parents.
The incident remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
