Resource Development Group, Warsaw, will provide city employees with "human relating skills" in a series of two hour courses over five workshop sessions.
The $4,100 contract, approved by the Warsaw Board of Works Friday, is designed to improve customer service skills; improve taxpayer's perceptions of services, and improve communication among employees.
The board tabled a request by the police and firefighter's pension plan members regarding the award of benefits to an individual which exceed the policy's parameters. Legal council for the members did not appear and another date will be set to answer the group's questions.
In other business the board:
• Released a mortgage as requested by Pam Kennedy of Housing Opportunities of Warsaw because the clients changed their minds about participating in the program. A second mortgage also was released because the property owner sold her home.
• Approved an amendment to the employee benefit trust plan reflecting compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. HIPPA conditions also will be included in all business associate contract terms.
• Approved a $662 contract with Technical Difference to provide software for the human resources department.
• Approved a $295 contract with E.F. Rhoades and Sons to provide annual testing of the new fire system installed in the Pete Thorn Youth Center.
• Approved an encroachment agreement requested by David and Paula Bowman regarding the addition of a balcony at 108 N. Buffalo St. which will extend 8 feet into the right-of-way.
• Tabled a payment to Indiana Construction/Corporate Construction. The board requested a payment schedule provided to subcontractors prior to approving the latest invoice.
Board of Works members are Mayor Ernie Wiggins, Jerry Patterson and Charlie Smith. [[In-content Ad]]
