As a gift to help brides-to-be, she recently released “Little White Book”.
The book is a guide to local wedding vendors and organized by category.
While there are no ads in the book, each vendor is allowed a brief description to set that business apart.
The free books are available at Chapman Jewelers, Expressions, both Warsaw Courthouse Coffee locations, Carson’s, J3, Think Young Styling Studio and Spa and Breath of Life Photography.
“I always thought, as a small business owner, I know how hard it is to get my name out there,” said Whalen. “There are so many great local vendors I wanted to let people know about.”
The plan is to publish the book annually around the end of October.
For vendors, they can be a part of the book for a fee and also be included on the website.
The deadline for next year’s book is Oct. 1.
With both the book and the Website, Whalen looked for a simple look without a lot of flash to it.
“Brides can get so overwhelmed,” said Whalen. “I just wanted something simple for them to use.”
As a wedding planner, Whalen has a practice of having both bride and groom pick out 10 adjectives to describe what they want in a wedding.
“Sometimes the bride and groom are surprised at what each other picks,” said Whalen. “But having a clear vision of what you want your wedding to be cuts down on stress and helps you end up getting what you want.”
Whalen said there are little things along the way while planning a wedding that will haunt a couple.[[In-content Ad]]She said her hope was that her book and website might eliminate some of the worry over those details.
