Evelyn Elizabeth Boesenberg and John Linwood Griffin were married at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 27, 2010, at the Marriage Bureau, Moultrie Courthouse, Washington, D.C.

The bride's parents are Christie Davenport, Warsaw, and David Boesenberg, Cromwell. The groom's parents are John C. Griffin and the late Cathy Griffin, Anniston, Ala.

The reception was at Cucina Vivace, Arlington, Va.

The bride is a professional classical singer in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Wawasee High School, Syracuse, in 2000, and earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Anderson University in 2004.

The groom is a scientist at TeleCommunication Systems Inc., Pensacola, Fla., and an assistant research professor with John Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md. He graduated from Saks High School, Anniston, Ala., in 1994, and received his Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa., in 2004.

The couple had a weekend getaway in Shenandoah National Park following the wedding, and plan a honeymoon in February skiing in Vancouver, B.C., and Denver, Colo.

The couple reside in Pensacola, Fla.
