Board the Time Machine of Wawasee History

These sessions are loosely based on Eli Lilly’s book, “Early Wawasee Days”. Go back in time to learn about the archeological background, Native American history and area pioneer experiences Saturday and July 21 and 28 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Time Machine – first stop takes place Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Drive, Syracuse. Marni Karaffa, geologist with Indiana Geological Survey, Bloomington, will present information about the formation of the lakes area. All three sessions are open to all ages, with no admission charge.
Time Machine – second stop is July 21 and led by local historian Jack Elam. Elam will turn the calendar back to explore Native American history and area pioneer experiences. Don’t forget to ask Elam about John Dillinger’s exploits.
The third session, led by Jane Modesitt, includes a “Show ’N’ Tell” where you can share your own experiences and memories. This session will end at 1 p.m. and snacks and beverages will be provided.
