Board Of Works OKs WPD To Hold Public Auction

Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety Friday approved a request from the Warsaw Police Department to hold a public auction in Warsaw.[[In-content Ad]]The auction will be Oct. 11 at 9:30 a.m. at WPD. Some of the items for auction will include vehicles, bicycles, computer monitors and printers.

Items up for auction are from WPD, Warsaw Fire Department, the mayor's office, the clerk-treasurer's office and items seized from VIP Spa by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force.

Proceeds collected from the auction will go toward the police pension fund. Proceeds collected from items from the mayor's office will go toward the city's general fund, and proceeds raised from items seized by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force will go to the task force.

The board also approved a deed of dedication for Park Ridge and Harrison Ridge subdivisions.

Sturges Development Group presented a deed of dedication for the right of way and easement for the Park Ridge Subdivision. Harrison Lake Development presented a deed of dedication for the acceptance of sanitary sewer facilities that serve Harrison Ridge.

The board also:

- Approved contracts for Celebracion Latina Sept. 13 from 1 to 10 p.m. in Central Park.

- Approved a $23,685.23 contract with Baker & Daniels LLP for issuance of sewage works revenue bonds.

- Approved a $2,600 contract between the city and B.I.T. Computers Inc. for an Internet study and e-mail security plan.

- Approved a $19,700 contract between H.J. Umbaugh & Associates for a fire territory financial study for the city and Wayne Township.

- Approved a contract between the city and SpyGlass to perform an audit of city land lines.

- Approved a $2,000 contract between the city and Kosciusko Community Hospital for health fair blood draws for city employees.
