BMV Announces Election Services, Veterans Day Closure
July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
By Staff Report-
The hours of operation will be extended Monday and Tuesday to issue state identification cards and driver’s licenses that may be used for identification at a polling place.
Waddell also said all BMV branches will be closed Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
Full-service license branches will be open Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
To ensure voters have immediate access to services, license branches will only process identification cards and driver’s licenses and will not perform any other BMV services. Written test and driver tests will not be available.
The Indiana BMV provides free, state-issued identification cards for voting purposes to any unlicensed Hoosier, as long as he or she can provide proper documentation and is old enough to vote.
The following documents are required to obtain a new state ID card or driver's license:
– Proof of identity document, such as a birth certificate or passport.
– Proof of Social Security document, such as a Social Security card, pay stub or W-2.
– Proof of lawful status, such as a birth certificate or passport.
– Proof of residency, two documents such as a voter registration card, utility bill or bank statement.
A complete list can be found at www.mybmv.IN.gov
All license branches will observe regular business hours Wednesday and Nov. 10, and be closed Nov. 11. All license branches will resume operating on regularly scheduled hours beginning Nov. 12.[[In-content Ad]]
