Lanx has about 200 workers who make products for patients with degenerative disk disease. The Boulder County Business Report says that Warsaw-based Biomet’s spine division, currently based in Parsippany, N.J., will be moved to Lanx sometime after the expected Nov. 29 closing on the acquisition.
The sale was approved by the boards of directors of both companies and is subject to federal approval under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act, among other conditions.
The sale and division move will have no anticipated effect on Biomet’s Warsaw headquarters, Bill Kolter, company vice-president of marketing and public affairs, told the Times-Union Wednesday.
Lanx raised $15 million in equity funding in May to expand its lateral spinal fusion business, Steve Deitsch, chief financial officer, told the Business Report.[[In-content Ad]]
