Biomet Net Sales Increase In 2nd Quarter Of '10

According to the report, Biomet's net sales increased 8 percent to $696 million worldwide.
Knee sales, as well as reconstructive sales, excluding dental, both increased 12 percent.
The adjusted net income increased 120 percent to $75 million compared to $34 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2009.
Biomet also reported a net loss of $7 million compared to $40 million for the second quarter of 2009.
"The Biomet team continued to deliver strong sales growth in orthopaedic reconstructive devices during the second quarter, driven by an 11-percent growth rate for US knee sales and an increase of 7 percent for US hip sales," said Biomet's President and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey R. Binder.
