NAPPANEE – Billy Royce Ashby Sr., 60, of 746 Monroe St., Elkhart, and formerly of Nappanee, died of natural causes at 6:30 a.m. Sept. 3, 2012, in his residence.
He was in ill health since 2006.

He was born July 12, 1952, in Earl, Ark., to Richard Frank and Annie Mae Linville Ashby.

He retired from Smokercraft in 2006.

Surviving are his mother, Annie Mae Ashby, Goshen; a son, Paul Russell (and spouse Paisha) Ashby, Nappanee; two daughters, Twila Marie (and spouse Marvin Jr.) Kleitz, Elkhart, and April Dawn Stuller, Nappanee; three grandchildren; a sister, Sherry Lynn (and spouse Gary D.) Hill, Elkhart; a brother, Dick Eugene Ashby, Goshen; and ex-wife, Nettie Marie Ashby, Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with his son-in-law, the Rev. Marvin Kleitz Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.

Calling is from noon to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
