COLUMBIA CITY - Billy Eugene Langohr, 85, Pierceton, died at 2:05 a.m. Sept. 5, 2008, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.

He was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Bourbon, to G. Walter and Inez Brown Langohr. On June 3, 1944, in Columbia City, he married Willodean "Kit" Menzie who survives.

A graduate of Columbia City High School, he also graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering. He moved from Columbia City to Pierceton in 1956. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. A co-owner of Pierceton Lumber Company and Columbia City Builders Supply, he retired from Lake City Bank. He attended Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 258, Pierceton, 339th Fighter Group 8th Air Force, past president of the Indiana State Angus Association and a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Toastmasters.

Also surviving are three sons: Jeff (and spouse Vickie) Langohr, Scott (and spouse Betty) Langohr, all of Pierceton; and Craig (and spouse Susan) Langohr, Columbia City; a daughter, Holly (and spouse Raymond) White, Pierceton; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

No visitation or services are scheduled. DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City, is in charge of arrangements.
