Bill Shepherd, 87, of 705 E. Market St., Warsaw, died at 12:55 p.m. June 21, 2007, in his residence.

He was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Floyd County, Ky., to Riley and Donna Shepherd Shepherd. On May 1, 1943, in Floyd County, Kentucky, he married Anna Lee Burke, who survives.

He moved to Warsaw in 1945. He was a foreman at Milnot Creamery, Warsaw; was a retired farmer; and was a member of the Baptist church. He enjoyed repairing and selling bicycles.

Surviving are four sons: Billey Shepherd, Bourbon; Malcolm Shepherd, Huntsville, Ala.; Carrey Shepherd, Warsaw; Bobby Shepherd, Claypool; two daughters, Laura Hackworth, Claypool, and Donna Wiechers, Clearwater, Fla; four sisters: Allie Hicks, Claypool; Berniece Mayhew and Fanny Cozzi, both of Warsaw; Mary Murphy, McDonough, Ga.; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a daughter Dorothea Marsh; two half brothers; two half sisters; three brothers; and a sister.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial was Oakwood Cemetery.
