BOURBON - Bill R. Montague, 82, of Fort Myers, Fla., and formerly of the Bourbon area, died unexpectedly June 5, 2009, in his residence.

He was born March 17, 1927, in Herman and Orpha Faulkner Montague. On July 6, 1948, he married Rosemary McGriff, who died April 24, 1992. He then married Irene Waltz, who survives.

A retired truck driver, he drove for Everly Trucking, Gochenour Trucking and Ecker Trucking, all in Bourbon. He was a member of Judah Christian Church.

Also surviving are four children: Debra (and spouse Bill) Sipple, Fort Myers; Roseann "Ann" (and spouse Dick) Tracy, North Manchester; Jim Montague, Warsaw; and Bill Jr. (and spouse Audrey) Montague, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Silvia Holloway, Bourbon; three stepsons, Adrian "Pete" Conover, David (and spouse Penny) Conover and Marks Conover Sr.; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Jo, who died in 1963, and his brothers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Mark Cottrill officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, west of Bourbon.

Calling is from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon.
