CHICAGO, Ill. – Victoria Biddle, daughter of Tim and Janet Biddle, recently attended the National Young Leaders State Conference in Chicago July 11-14.
The conference consisted of four days of extensive leadership workshops. Each day was filled with different leadership-building lessons and group-building activities. Some of the various topics discussed were active listening, the gift of feedback, appreciating diversity, conflict resolution, group dynamics, leadership navigation, presentation skills, responsible decision making and project planning.
The theme this year was “Courageous Leadership.”
“The steps each person takes in discovering his or her own leadership strengths can be a very personal process,” said Marguerite Regan, Ph.D., dean of academic affairs for the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, the organization that sponsors NYLSC. “The National Young Leaders State Conference will help students get at the heart of their innate talents and skills and will also help them to identify how they can best serve their communities.”
The Congressional Youth Leadership Council is a non-partisan educational organization. Founded in 1985, CYLC is committed to fostering and inspiring young people to achieve their full leadership potential.
Biddle will be a freshman at Tippecanoe Valley High School.
