She was born March 9, 1936, in Bourbon, to Clayton and Violet Conrad Huggins. On June 24, 1956, in Bourbon, she married William “Bill” Long, who survives.
She graduated from Bourbon High School. She and her husband owned and operated Hoffman Lake Campground for 53 years. She was a member of the Indiana Campground Owners Association, where she was a previous board member, and the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, where she received the Outdoor Hospitality Excellence through Industry Unity since 2008 Award. She volunteered at Atwood Elementary School. In addition, she was a Camp Fire Girls Leader, a Cub Scout Leader and a member of the KCH Ladies Auxiliary and Merry Tones Home EC Club.
Also surviving are her three children: Aime (and spouse Hal) Hoffman, Yellow Creek Lake; Mike (and spouse Dara) Long and Mark Long, all of Warsaw; her daughter-in-law, Susan Long, Warsaw; nine grandchildren: Hanna (and spouse Bud) Losee, Etna Green; Kelsey (and spouse Nick) Miller, Hoffman Lake; Stacie (and spouse Brent) Anderson, Leesburg; Jessica (and spouse Miles) Wynn, Gresham, Ore.; Rob and Aaron Hoffman, Yellow Creek Lake; Mariah and Matt Long, Warsaw; Isaac Long, Plymouth; a step-granddaughter, Aerial Gilbert, Warsaw; six great-grandchildren: Avah and Norah Miller; Sawyer, Tripp and Jaxon Anderson; and Oliver Wynn. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Long, who died Jan. 1, 2016; her sister, Peg Baumgardner; and a brother, Thomas Huggins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Rob Seewalk officiating. Burial will be in Etna Green Cemetery.
Calling is one hour prior to services Monday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
