FORT WAYNE - Beulah Lugar, 79, died Jan. 7, 2008, in Harborside Healthcare Center, New Haven.

She was born in Medora. She married George E. Lugar, who preceded her in death.

She was a commissions supervisor at Lincoln Life for 36 years, retiring in 1962. She was a member of First Baptist Church, New Haven, and American Legion Post 47.

Surviving are her children: Bonnie Ott, New Haven; Alva (and spouse Jill) Alberson, Fort Wayne; Gary Alberson, Warsaw; Francis Davis, Texas; Gloria Davis and Martie Hohlbein, both of Welton, Ariz.; V. Jean McDaniel, Montpelier; and James Lugar, Portland; 31 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, George S. Lugar; four brothers; and four sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Garden of Memories, Muncie.

Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
