She was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Warsaw, to Theodore and Marguerite Galbreath Van Curen. On Oct. 22, 1955, in North Webster, she married John R. Hinderer, who died in 1997.
She graduated from North Webster High School in 1947. She lived most of her life in the North Webster/Syracuse area until moving to Corunna eight years ago. She was a homemaker, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse, and attended Souls Harbor Assembly of God, Auburn.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca (and spouse Lynn) McDonald, Corunna; a son, Brian (and spouse Christy) Hinderer, Pierceton; a granddaughter; two step-grandsons; two step-great-grandsons; and a sister, Lorita Randall, Warsaw. She also was preceded in death by a son.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor David Snodderly officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
