Betty Lou Bussard, 93, passed away at 8:35 p.m. May 6, 2014, in Grace Village, Winona Lake.
She was born Dec. 23, 1920, in Wabash, to Royal L. and Enid Fritchey Lavengood. On Nov. 29, 1942, in Wabash, she married Richard J. Bussard, who died June 2, 1999.
She was a 1939 graduate of Wabash High School. She lived most of her life in Warsaw. She worked in the clerical department at Zimmer for 21 years, retiring in 1985, and also worked for Warsaw Community Schools for 10 years in the cafeteria.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw, and a past member of Order of the Eastern Star, Warsaw Chapter.
Surviving are three sons: Terry (and spouse Patricia), Donald (and spouse Linda), and Kim (and spouse Lani) Bussard, all of Warsaw; seven grandchildren: Brandon (and spouse Wendy), Shelly and Ryan Bussard, all of Warsaw; Matthew (and spouse Kate) Bussard, Bargarsville; Allison Bussard, Knoxville, Tenn.; Mesta Baker, Warsaw; Amberlee (and spouse Kevin) Haines, Warsaw; one step-grandson, James Seeley; one step-granddaughter, Veronica Singleton; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ned R. Lavengood, Wilson, N.C. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Gary Boschain, First Christian Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
