PIERCETON – Betty Joan Danner, 90, Pierceton, passed away at 12:36 a.m. March 20, 2015, in Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
She was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Howard County, to Hallie Francis and Cora Amelia Julow Symons. On Oct. 13, 1946, in Warsaw, she married Lorin L. Danner, who died Nov. 21, 2012.
She attended the Pierceton United Methodist Church, and was a life member of the American Legion Post #258 Auxiliary, Pierceton. She was employed by United Telephone Company/Sprint, and retired in 1983 after 24 years of service. She was then employed by Lake City Bank, and retired in 2006 after 20 years of service.
Survivors include a son, Gale E. (and spouse Juanita) Danner, Warsaw; two daughters, Teresa E. (and spouse Ron) Conley and Susan E. (and spouse Mike) Stevens, all of Pierceton; four grandsons: Todd Danner, Pierceton; James Danner, Seattle, Wash.; Jeff (and spouse Kassie) Branning, Larwill; Terry (and spouse Tracie) Stoddard, Columbia City; three step-grandsons: Roger Fitzpatrick, Claypool; Eric and Adam Conley, Lakeland, Fla.; three granddaughters: Karen Danner, Seattle; Christina (and spouse Jason) Mozzone, Columbia City; Samantha (and spouse Zack) O’Vadka, Indianapolis; six great-grandchildren: Thomas, Bridget, Andrew, Kate, Holly and Lorin; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Annette Symons, Alachua, Fla., and Dorothy Symons, Elkhart. She also was preceded in death by three brothers: James A., Robert W. and Hallie F. Symons Jr.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe of Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice officiating.
No calling is planned.
