She was born March 31, 1935, in Latrobe, Pa., to James Albert and Marie Elizabeth O’Brien Loughner. On June 27, 1953, in Latrobe, she married Lloyd H. Anderson Jr., who died July 22, 2000.
She moved from Latrobe to reside in White Pigeon, Mich., in 1968 and lived there for 37 years before moving to Elkhart in 2007 to make her home with her daughter, Debra, who has been her primary caregiver the last six years.
A 1953 graduate of Derry Township High School, Pa., she was a homemaker and also worked as a spot welder at Ventline, Bristol, for three years.
She was very artistic and wrote various poems for family and friends, with samples of her work receiving recognition and appearing in published volumes. She was an accomplished seamstress and also created many crocheted handicrafts. An organist, she was a member of the Sharps and Flats organ club.
She was a member of the Mottville Community Church.
Surviving are six children: twins, Debra L. Anderson, Elkhart, and Diane L. (and spouse Harold) Schmidtendorff, Springfield, Mo.; Donna J. Weeks, South Boardman, Mich.; Donald R. “Buddy” (and spouse Debra S. Ciber) Anderson, Chauvin, La.; Connie L. (and spouse Kenneth) Evans, Shipshewana; and Helen M. (and spouse James) Carrell, Union, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Isabelle Virginia Bruggeman, Greensburg, Pa., and Carol Jean Staniscia, Derry, Pa.; and a half sister, Mary Lou Agustino, Derry, Pa. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Darlene Marie Jenkins, who died Feb. 4, 2006; a grandson, Nathaniel O. Bianchini; a step-grandchild, Kelcie; two brothers, James Edward and Thomas Leonard Loughner; five sisters, Martha Jane Reffo, Nancy Lee Loughner, Rita Lauray Reffo, Janet Marie Manno and Marian May Banocy; and a half brother, Paul Millard Loughner.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, officiated by Pastor David Bell of Mottville Community Church. Burial will be in Mottville Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
