SYRACUSE - Betty E. McKibben, 79, of Syracuse, died at 8:30 a.m. April 16, 2008, in her residence.

She was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Nappanee, to John and Eva Linn Reed. On April 13, 1947, she married Charles F. McKibben, who survives.

A lifetime area resident, she was a punch press operator at Syracuse Rubber, retiring in 1992 after 43 years of service.

Also surviving are two sons, Dallas (and spouse Sharon) McKibben and Rick McKibben, both of Syracuse; five grandchildren: Kimberly Senders, Robert, Brady and Trevor McKibben and Heather Bixler; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mirian Lung, Goshen; Margaret Stutzman, Nappanee; and Ethel Hughes, Syracuse; and a brother, Chuck Reed, Syracuse. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Syracuse Cemetery with Pastor Mark Eastway officiating.

No calling is planned.

Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
