She was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Warsaw, to John Wesley and Alice Ervin Engle. On Feb. 1, 1947, in Atwood, she married Howard C. Hoppus, who died April 27, 1977.
She was a homemaker and a packer at R.R. Donnelley and Sons for 15 years, retiring in 1989.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn (and spouse Larry) Temple, Warsaw; a son, John (and spouse Kristine) Hoppus, Millville, N.J.; six grandchildren: Rob (and spouse Julie) Sutton; Stephanie Rogers; Rick (and spouse Kelley) Stetler; David (and spouse Holly) Temple; Derek (and spouse Tabitha) Temple; and Daniel (and spouse Tonya) Temple; 11 great-grandchildren: Morgan Boyer; Rylan and Mason Sutton; Emily, Chloe, Colin, Madelyn, Aidan and Claire Temple; and Grant and Max Stetler; three sisters, Ethel Truex, Atwood; and Joanna Garee and Eva Tripp, both of Warsaw; and a brother, Wilbur Engle, Saratoga, Wyo. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Evans, and three brothers, Glen, Charles and Johnny Engle.
A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Pastor Denny Bollenbacker officiating.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
