He was born March 22, 1934, in Liberty, Texas, to Henry and Agnes Pratka Janacek. On Aug. 5, 1956, in Waco, Texas, he married Monica A. Torpy, who died April 9, 2006.
He grew up in Liberty and attended public school there. In 1981, he moved to the Leesburg/North Webster area from Waco, Texas. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict. He retired from Warsaw Community Schools where he worked in the transportation department for 20 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Warsaw, American Legion Post 253, North Webster, and a former member of the Barbee Conservation Club.
Surviving is a son, Michae (and spouse Laurena) Janacek, Leesburg; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wilfred (and spouse Geri) Janacek, Richmond, Texas. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and a sister.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
