Beaman Home Plans Bingo Fundraiser
July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
By Staff Report-
The public is invited to join the fun and support the shelter at the same time. This year’s theme is “Wipe Out Domestic Violence.”
Assisting with the fundraiser are members of Altrusa International of Warsaw, who established the Beaman Home July 1, 1985. The Beaman Home has operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week since that time and is currently conducting a campaign to build a new Emergency Shelter and Outreach Center on North Parker Street.
Annually, the existing facility has provided advocacy services to nearly 1,000 domestic violence victims and nearly 25 percent of those assisted use the crisis hotline and the Emergency Shelter programs. In addition, this past year nearly 100 volunteers contributed more than 2,250 hours of service to the community’s victims and their children through the shelter and its programs.
Tickets for the event are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Ticket price includes bingo cards, light refreshments and a chance to win a door prize. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with bingo beginning at 6:30 p.m. To purchase advance tickets, call the Beaman Home at 574-267-7701 or purchase them from the receptionist at the K21 Health Services Pavilion, 1515 Provident Drive, Warsaw.
All proceeds from the bingo event will benefit the programs and services of the Beaman Home, which has served the community’s domestic violence victims and their dependent children for more than 28 years.[[In-content Ad]]
