July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is promoting a nationwide edict to make 9/11, 2011 the single largest day of service in history called “I Will” join the 9/11 Tribute Movement.

The Warsaw/Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce is leading the charge in Kosciusko County to join the rest of the nation in this tribute.

With the help of KREMC, Warsaw/Wayne Fire Territory, the Kosciusko County 9/11 Remembrance Planning Committee, and several other organizations, people in the county are asked to participate.

Many activities are being planned around two major local events.

First go to www.911day.org and document your intent to participate.

At Play It Safe Family Safety Day, held at Central Park in Warsaw from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 10, while many fun and educational activities are happening there, you will also have the opportunity to write a message on a banner for a soldier or give blood at the blood mobile (must be scheduled in advance for giving blood).

On Sept. 11, residents can attend the 2011 Patriotic Day Remembrance Parade at 3 p.m., or enter a float in the parade. You can also prepare a package for a soldier and drop it off with the Chamber on the Courthouse Square in Warsaw after the parade.

Other ways you can serve are: fly the American flag at your home and business; visit a Veteran; wear red, white, and blue on 9/11, or do something nice for a neighbor or shut-in.

For more information about the “I Will” join the 9/11 Tribute Movement, donating blood, entering the 2011 Patriotic Day Remembrance Parade, or the Chamber, contact the Chamber at 574-267-6311, email [email protected], or visit www.wkchamber.com/Events[[In-content Ad]]
