Today, Nov. 19, 2009, I received a lengthy, computer-generated e-mail from Senator Evan Bayh. The basic message stated Senator Bayh is supporting, along with other Senators, a proposal to form a debt-fighting commission to tame the ballooning national debt.
During the last several months I haves also seen postings on Facebook by Senator Bayh, bringing to my attention, all the money Senator Bayh has returned to the State of Indiana. I'm so confused. Now that the Senator has spent all the money the United States didn't have, he wants to form a commission to stop spending all the money the United States doesn't have.
It seems a little late to me, to start thinking about "not" spending money the United States doesn't have. Each citizen of the United States is about $38,000 in debt, thanks to Congress. I don't know how long it will take to pay off the debt of the United States, but something tells me it will never be paid. It makes me sad for my grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I remember reading a "Letter to the Editor" from a woman that stated she couldn't wait to vote in 2010. I know how she felt and agree.
