Samuel and Marcia Pifer Baumgartner, Milford, announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Jean Baumgartner, Arlington, Va., to Daniel Jesse Bean, Arlington. He is the son of Edward and Lois Friedlander Bean, Lilburn, Ga.
The bride-to-be is a patent attorney at Interactive Intelligence Inc., Indianapolis. She graduated from Wawasee High School, Syracuse, and earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Indiana University in 2004 and juris doctor degree in 2010.  
The groom-elect is a senior risk analyst at AvalonBay Communities, Arlington. He graduated from Berkmar High School, Lilburn, Ga., and earned a bachelor’s of business administration in economics in 2006 and a juris doctor degree in 2009 from the University of Georgia, and master’s degrees in risk management and insurance in 2010 and  finance in 2011 from Georgia State University.
The couple plan a March 29, 2014, wedding.
