She was born Nov. 15, 1934, to Jud and Jettie Vanator. On May 28, 1954, she married Forrest “Bud” Baugher, her husband of 53 years, who died in March 2008.
She worked at Miller & Sons Lumber, Silver Lake, for several years prior to her job at DePuy, where she eventually retired.
Betty has three daughters: Deb (and spouse Randy) Miller, Winona Lake; Linda (and spouse Kim) Grindle, Warsaw; and Pam (and spouse Ron) Skinner, Mancos, Colo. She also has five grandchildren: Rob (and spouse Charlotte) Grindle and Lisa (and spouse Blaine) Goon, all of Warsaw; Eric (and spouse Bethany) and Lynnae Miller, all of Frederick, Md.; Krysta Miller, Winona Lake; and six step-grandchildren: Racquel, Tabitha and Ryan Tucker, Warsaw; Robin Skinner Willoya, Butte, Alaska; Nathen (and spouse Amanda) and Adam and Tyana Skinner, all of Kalama, Wash.; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Karter Goon; and four step-great-grandchildren: Jaden Willoya; Orion, Zachary and Kolten Skinner.
