Gene L. and Barbara A. Bartels will mark their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 22, 2008. Gene Bartels and Barbara Crow were married Nov. 22, 1958, at Garrett United Methodist Church with the Rev. Melvin Seeger officiating.

He retired as maintenance director at Epworth Forest Conference Center. She retired as an instructor at Ivy Tech Community College.

The couple have two children, Randall A. Bartels, Indianapolis, and Michael Bartels, Fort Wayne. They have three grandchildren.

The couple will celebrate the anniversary with a family dinner.
