Local attorney-at-law John D. Barrett recently opened a new law office in Warsaw. Barrett concentrates mainly in the areas of criminal defense, personal injury and family law matters.

Terre Haute native Barrett received his bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico and obtained his legal degree from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis in 2003. Barrett was admitted to the Indiana Bar and U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern districts of Indiana in 2004.

He is a member of the Kosciusko County Bar Association (serving as vice president from 2005-present), and is an active board member of the Warsaw Education Foundation and the Cardinal Center Development Corporation.

Barrett resides in Warsaw with his wife Lovie and two children Cameron and David.

"After law school, we visited Warsaw and just fell in love with the area," states Barrett. "I truly appreciate the mentoring received while working under David Kolbe for the past couple of years - one would be hard pressed to find a better trial lawyer than Mr. Kolbe anywhere. But I felt it is just time for me to bring a long-term dream of mine to fruition by branching out on my own. I look forward to serving the legal needs of Kosciusko County residents and businesses for many years to come."
