NORTH MANCHESTER - Barbara L. Speicher, 66, of North Manchester, died at 9:45 a.m. March 15, 2007, in her residence.

She was born April 7, 1940, in Kosciusko County, to Harold and Imogene Schmalzried Hand. On June 6, 1959, she married Jim Speicher, who survives.

She worked at Manchester Community Schools for 27 years, retiring in 2002. She was a 1958 Sidney High School graduate and as a member of Chester Charmers Home-Ec Extension Club. She also was a member of the North Manchester United Methodist Church.

Also surviving are two sons, Todd Speicher, North Manchester, and Terry Speicher, New Llano, La.; a brother, Jerry Hand, Sidney; a sister: Mrs. Glenn (Estella) Heckman, Elkton, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at North Manchester United Methodist Church, with Pastor David Overmyer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church..
