Barbara Jean Hamman, 79, of 1630 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, died at 9:10 a.m. March 1, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born March 20, 1928, in Kosciusko County, to James Sylvester and Fannie May Warren Clark. On Dec. 7, 1946, she married Forrest D. "Buck" Hamman, who preceded her in death.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she was a cashier at Owen's Supermarket and Brennan's Drug Store, Warsaw, retiring in 1994. She was a 1944 Mentone High School graduate.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen (and spouse James) Joyce, Leesburg; four sons: Gary (and spouse Jody) Hamman and Michael (and spouse Pam) Hamman, both of Warsaw, and Mark Hamman and Ned (and spouse Cindy) Hamman, both of Leesburg; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Robert Clark, Lansing, Mich.; Richard Clark, Warsaw; and Alden Clark, Leesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gale Hamman; three brothers; and three sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Jeff Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
