Dannie and Margaret Baker will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday.
They were married Nov. 19, 1955, in First Union Parish Church, Sidney, with the Rev. Wayne Johnston, Claypool, officiating.
Sharodene Lowery Morris, Claypool, was the maid of honor and Charles Barnum, Columbia City, was the best man. Margaret’s mother, Elva Evans, made her wedding dress and head piece. The wedding reception was at the bride’s parent’s home. They went to the Ozark Mountains for their honeymoon.
Dannie was self employed for most of his working years, running B & E Oil Company, Sidney, with his father-in-law, then started his own business of car sales at Bakers Place. He also worked at Snyder Ford, North Manchester, for a while and drove a school bus for Whitko Schools, and ended his working career as the groundskeeper for Whitko Schools.
Margaret was a homemaker and stayed at home to raise their two children, Kent, Goshen, and Lynn Myers, South Whitley. She did work in Title One at Sidney Elementary, and was a teachers assistant at South Whitley Elementary, then retired to babysit the grandkids. They have resided in their current home for the last 52 years near Sidney, and have always loved spending time with their kids, five grandchildren and extended family. Dannie loved to fish, and volunteers at the food bank in North Manchester and drives for meals on wheels. Margaret loves to do jigsaw puzzles, and has volunteered at the Thrift Shop in North Manchester for over 20 years. They both have always been active in their church and love the Lord Jesus.
Please send the couple a card of congratulations.[[In-content Ad]]

Get To Know The Team: Warsaw Captains Q&A
Earlier this week, I had the privilege of going to a Warsaw football practice and speaking with four of the team’s five captains. With so much having been written in recent weeks about their performance on the field, and rightfully so, I wanted to peel back the curtain a bit and ask them some questions about themselves. Each of the four players were asked the same eight questions. Below are each of their answers.

Kosciusko County
2025 Meetings

Town of Claypool
Additional Appropriations

KCCRVC
2025 Meetings

Solid Waste
