School starts in less than a month, and Our Father's House is gearing up to help make sure students receive school supplies and clothing.

Our Father's House, 401 Argonne Road, Warsaw, will hold its "Back to School Day" Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is the fourth year for the event where students receive clothing and school supplies for free.

"Anyone who needs help with clothing and school supplies for school children is welcome to come," said Roz Morgan, director of Our Father's House.

School children must be accompanied by a parent to receive free clothes and school supplies.

"The day is a time for the community to come together to assist students in our community in need," Morgan said.

People in the community may stop by Our Father's House Saturday and donate school supplies and clothing for students.

The students will receive three outfits, new socks and underwear and school supplies free of charge. The outfits are from Our Father's House racks and are gently used, Morgan said. The socks and underwear are donated by Wal-Mart.

Cheryl Zale, Warsaw, has donated school supplies for the past three years for the event and again donated school supplies this year.

Zale is a former second-grade teacher and principal at Sacred Heart School. She said she has gone to Kmart and Wal-Mart to get ideas for school supplies for students. She purchased supplies such as paper, crayons and pencils that she donated to Our Father's House.

"Education is close to my heart, and a child can't be more proud when they have new school supplies to start the school year," Zale said.

For more information about the event, call Morgan at 574-268-1800.
