Kathy Vroman died as a result of two gunshot wounds to the head.
The body of Vroman, 48, of Milford, was found Friday near Three Rivers, Mich. An autopsy was performed Saturday in Grand Rapids, Mich., by a team of forensic pathologists headed by Dr. Stephen Cohle.
The report was completed Monday, according to Jeff Middleton in the St. Joseph County, Mich., prosecuting attorney's office. Although Middleton has not seen the official report, he said he was given the information via telephone regarding the homicide.
Middleton said it was determined that Vroman "was killed somewhere else - probably Milford, Ind.," and her body was dumped at the location in Michigan.
A time or date of death could not be determined, Middleton said, because the body was frozen.
Jason Fisher, 22, of Middlebury, is being held without bond in the Kosciusko County Jail charged with murdering Vroman. Authorities believe Vroman died on Jan. 15, the day her husband, William, reported her as missing after she failed to return home from work. Fisher was Kathy Vroman's boss at Country Car Co. in Milford.
Also charged in connection with Vroman's disappearance are Fisher's father, Ralph Freddrick Fisher, 46, of Goshen. He was initially charged with assisting a criminal for allegedly helping his son dispose of Vroman's body and now also faces a charge of unlawful movement of a body, according to court documents.
Lawrence Grant, 29, of Goshen, also is accused of assisting in transporting and disposing of Vroman's body. Grant surrendered to authorities in Wildwood, Fla., after making contact with Milford police. He is preliminarily charged with auto theft, unlawful movement of a body and assisting a criminal. He is awaiting extradition to Indiana.
Vroman's death could possibly have a connection to a string of auto thefts in which her husband and another man, as well as Grant, were reportedly implicated.
William Vroman, 32, is charged with burglary and George W. Aldrich, 28, of Etna Green, is charged with burglary and auto theft. Both of the men allegedly took part in a Dec. 2 burglary at Rice Ford in Warsaw, where more than $100,000 worth of vehicles were stolen along with about 20 sets of keys to other new vehicles.
All of the men charged in connection with this case are affiliated in some way with the Country Car Co., officials said. [[In-content Ad]]
