Attic Fire in Fort Wayne Street House

Warsaw Fire Department firefighters battle a house fire at 316 W. Fort Wayne St. Tuesday afternoon.

The home, owned by Lisa Valentine, was set on fire by a man working on the roof with a torch. The fire was contained to the attic.

Winona Lake and Warsaw fire crews were on the scene for more than two hours trying to extinguish the blaze.

A Winona Lake firefighter was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for possible smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion. The Kosciusko County Red Cross assisted the family and the firefighters.
