She was born June 7, 1937, in Manten, Ky., to Carew and Callie Brown Slone. On Aug. 13, 1958, in Dunkirk, Ohio, she married Richard Gibson Jr., who died March 2, 2001.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she formerly worked at Blue Bell and Jomac Inc., Warsaw, and retired from the Dollar Inn Corp. of Indianapolis in March 2000.
Surviving are a son, Paul Eugene Gibson, Claypool; and adopted son, Kip Treir, Warsaw; two granddaughters, Beckey Hamman Collins, North Webster, and Crystal Gibson, Davenport, Fla.; a grandson, Joe Gibson, Davenport; five great-granddaughters: Rachel Gibson; Suzy, Mary and Able Back; and Andera Hamman; three great-grandsons, Theodore and Harley Hamman and Ron Back; five nephews; eight nieces; close friends, Ruth and Duane Kemper and Miranda and Jonah Studebaker; and her loving dogs, Sassie and Big Bear. She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Richard Hamman; seven sisters; two brothers; seven nephews; seven nieces; and ex-husband, Theodore Hamman.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Chad Burkhart officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
