SYRACUSE – Arthur Berton Kolberg, 90, of Syracuse, passed away April 6, 2012, in I.U. Health Goshen Hospital.

He was born Nov. 4, 1921, in Syracuse, to Arthur C. and Violet Anna Katherine Prentice Kolberg. On May 22, 1948, he married Margaret Eileen LeCount, who died in 2008.

A lifetime area resident, he was a 1941 Cromwell High School graduate and a retired farmer and school bus driver. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of Disabled American Veterans, Goshen.

Surviving are his finance, Katherine Longenecker, Syracuse; a daughter, Becky Kolberg-Mangan, Columbia City; two sons, Eric (and spouse Rhonda) Kolberg, Jimtown, and Doyle (and spouse Cynthia) Kolberg, Syracuse; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Mary Lois Byrd, Mishawaka; Decima Alzima Butt, Syracuse; and Margaret Mazel Poyser, Cromwell. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Bandora Wilminia Iden, Edonna Elizabeth Kolberg, Violet Edelva Butt and Lauretta Violetta Stoner.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse, with Pastor Hubert Schmucker officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.

Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
