Sheriff's deputies from Noble and Kosciusko counties believe they have found at least one person responsible for a string of burglaries in both counties.

Monday, officers from Noble County, Kosciusko County, the Indiana State Police and the Department of Natural Resources teamed up to arrest a 38-year-old Kimmel man, Joseph S. Kizer, on theft charges.

Members of the Noble County SWAT team executed a search warrant at Kizer's residence, 7647 W. CR 350S, Kimmel, and took Kizer into custody.[[In-content Ad]]Officers then went into a pole barn at the residence where several stolen items were reportedly found, including a motor home, several Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, and a plasma cutter, all of which were stolen in various burglaries in Kosciusko County.

Many other items also were found in the pole barn and some reportedly could be linked to burglaries in Noble County.

Officials say Indiana Conservation Officer Lyle Enyeart broke the case open Sunday when he tracked a stolen boat from Kosciusko County to the Kimmel residence.

Then Noble County officers were able to get a search warrant from the Noble County Prosecutor's Office that allowed them to search the pole barn and find the stolen property.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
