Arguing Arguments

The problem with Progressives is that when they no longer have an argument, they try to twist the argument of someone who disagrees with them. They are upset that people are not buying their arguments that the United States need to evolve past the Constitution and that it must be interpreted to represent the time.
There are people in this country that are tired of the two-party system that is taking our rights and consolidating power for an elite ruling few. I am for restoration of the republic and the rights we are guaranteed under our constitution.
Yes, I did say that the federal government needs to cut programs like Social Security, Medicare, HUD and other federal programs. I also did say (the Fair Tax) will, "allow the elderly to keep their Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, but at the same time allow younger Americans to save for their retirements without the government taxing it".
I am nearly 30. With the Fair Tax I would be able to save for my retirement. Under the current system, I might not have any money left for my retirement. If I had a choice between a certainty of saving my own retirement through the Fair Tax, or the uncertainty of paying into Social Security that might not be around, I choose the Fair Tax and assurance of supporting my retirement.
Those arguments against the Fair Tax saying that a new product would be more damaging to a poor family to a wealthy one has been tried and proven incorrect. The Fair Tax eliminates all federal withholding taxes and reimburses all federal taxes for Americans who live below the poverty line. That means if you only make minimum wage - you will live tax free. Of course, someone would attack the Fair Tax without getting all the knowledge. But that has been a Progressive tactic ever since the Fair Tax was conceived. So I hope that people will go to the website and actually learn the Fair Tax before you criticize it.
In 1887, President Grover Cleveland vetoed a bill giving money to Texas farmers who were suffering through a drought. In his veto message, he stated, "The people support the government and the government should not support the people." He goes further to say that, "The friendliness and charity of our countrymen can always be relied upon to relieve their fellow-citizens in misfortune."
Americans can help each other through their charity, if you do not believe me look at Americans giving to fellow Americans during Katrina, or after Sept. 11.
Now I will admit that during times where the economy is not doing so well, charity is one of the first things Americans cut back on. Which is another reason for supporting the Fair Tax - no withholding of taxes means more money for our retirement and to give to others in need.
I'm fed up with both parties claiming they know what is best for the American people. I want to choose my own life and how I live it.
