NORTH MANCHESTER - Arden Morris, 80, of North Manchester, died at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 10, 2009, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

He was born May 3, 1928, in Dekalb County, to A.F. and Alta Harrison Morris. On June 23, 1949, he married Vivian L. Zook, who survives.

She was a social worker for the Pennsylvania State Welfare office for 20 years and Oklahoma State Welfare Office for 10 years, retiring in 1992. He attended Manchester Church of the Brethren. He graduated from South Whitley High School in 1946, and received a bachelor's degree in sociology from Manchester College in 1950. He was a member of Bruderhauf, Farmington, Pa., from 1957-61.

Also surviving are seven sons: Thomas and Timothy W. Morris, both of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Ronald Morris, Wagoner, Okla.; Charles Morris, Colfax, Calif.; Kenneth Morris, Jeannette, Pa.; Larry Morris, New Jersey; and David Morris, Pollock Pines, Calif.; two daughters, Louise Morris, Kona, Hawaii, and Karen Morris-Huffman, Ripon, Calif.; a brother, Leo Morris, Hendersonville, N.C.; a sister, Irene Morris-Ott, Churubusco; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Borgmann officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Calling is one hour prior to the service Tuesday at Timbercrest Chapel.
