Architectural consultants for Warsaw Community Schools will meet Tuesday with school administrators to discuss the upcoming study of Silver Lake, Atwood and Claypool elementary schools.
According to R. Duane Odle, president of Odle, McGuire and Shook Corp., Indianapolis, the Tuesday meeting will determine the objectives of the study, which was announced by Warsaw Superintendent Dr. Lee Harman at the November school board meeting at Silver Lake Elementary.
"They'll tell us how they want us to approach it, the depth of investigation they want, and we'll help arrange community forums," Odle said today. He said they would explore both options - renovating existing buildings or building a new school - according to the school corporation's educational goals.
"The most important part is the educational program," he said. "We do an educational assessment of the program and what facilities are necessary to attain that program."
Odle, McGuire and Shook Corp., Odle said, was the architectural firm that designed Warsaw Community High School and Eisenhower and Harrison elementary schools. The company specializes in new construction and renovations, and renovations are the majority of its work, he said.
The study will be done by Odle and Don Pennington, who has a doctorate in education and will be in charge of assessing the educational program, Odle said.
When asked how such a study can be accomplished for the announced fee of $2,000, Odle said the company has a long-term relationship with the school corporation.
Target date for the completion of the study is June. [[In-content Ad]]
