Toxic tale? Depends. Depends on context. On definition. On source.
Days away from the most important congressional election of my more than 80 years, President Obama's promise to transform America has become more transparent. It's also become scarier with the rapid passage of each new budget-busting spending bill, especially those designed to bring abut so-called "social justice." Those words "social justice" may sound good, not toxic, but like all such initiatives (or ukases) in this administration ... it depends. It depends on definition, or as former President Clinton once said, "Depends on what is is."[[In-content Ad]]Jeremiah Wright, Obama's pastor for more than 20 years, led his many followers to understand "social justice" as meaning: a redistribution of wealth both within our country and without on a global scale, also including amnesty for illegals, and other such perversions of our constitution as well as Holy Writ.
Jim Wallis, one of Obama's current spiritual advisors, when interviewed by a reporter from "Interfaith Voices" (1-13-06) was asked, "Are you calling for the redistribution of wealth in society?" Wallis, without hesitation, responded, "Absolutely! That's what the gospel is all about." Wallis, editor of Sojouner, a progressive front for using religion as a cover for advancing progressive liberal agenda, has in recent times been exposed by "World" magazine's editor Marvin Olasky as denying receipt of $325,000 for Sojourner. This very large gift was reportedly received from George Soros, the ultra-far-left liberal socialist. Wallis initially accused both Olasky and even Glenn Beck of lying, but was forced to apologize when tax returns exposed his attempts to deceive.
Toxic? Depends. Toxic talk? Depends on what is is.
Is your definition of "social justice" what Obama's is? Or Jeremiah Wright's? Or that of Jim Wallis? These three believe it to mean a redistribution of wealth or as James Kohn, the black mentor of this threesome, taught: "We (meaning you and I) must give back what we took in order to be redeemed." Not surprisingly, Obama added his understanding of redemption by saying, "Our individual salvation depends on collective salvation."
Opposing these totally foreign to scripture beliefs, Pope Benedict XVI, speaking about such abominations, said, "Whenever politics tries to be redemptive, it is promising too much, where it wishes to do the work of God, it becomes not divine, but demonic."
A famous English Statesman - Edmund Burke - once warned: "All that's needed for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing." So, avoid being toxic, doing nothing on Nov. 2, 2010. Be good. Be informed. Know truth. Vote "right."
