She was born Feb. 23, 1917, in Midland, Mich., to William Henry and Carrie Freeman Brugger. On Sept. 4, 1942, she married Roscoe Vineyard, who died May 17, 2003.
She was a homemaker, a surgical nurse at Toledo (Ohio) Hospital, and later was an OBGYN nurse in Muncie. After retirement, she was a volunteer for Salvation Army. She was past president of Cape Coral AARP, and club champion of Women's Division at Palmetto Pines Golf Club. She was a member of First Christian Church, Cape Coral, Fla. She graduated from Hurley School of Nursing, Flint, Mich., in 1942.
Surviving are three sons: Jim Vineyard, Garland, Texas; Pete Vineyard, Petersburg, Mich.; and Jack Vineyard, North Manchester; a sister, Ellen Brugger, Coleman, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Services will be Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. at Lambertville United Methodist Church, Lambertville, Mich., with Pastor Tom Zimmerman and the Rev. Bruce Schrieber officiating. Burial will be at Toldeo Memorial Gardens, Toledo, Ohio.
Calling will be held at the church following services.
