She was born Oct. 30, 1932, in Cleveland Township, Whitley County, to Frank and Martha Spiecher Austin. On Nov. 11, 1950, in South Whitley, she was united in marriage to Amos Stump, who preceded her in death Aug. 28, 1988.
She retired from Da-Lite Screen Inc., Warsaw, after 26 years of service and was the co-owner of Stump’s Mobile Home Court. A member of First Baptist Church, she faithfully attended and was very active in various church organizations.
She was a graduate of South Whitley High School, Class of 1950, and was a member of several Kosciusko County Home Economics Clubs.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with the children and her aunt, Mariana Schulz, reading, gardening and attending church. She loved to visit friends, especially Helen Mort; long drives with her husband, Amos; and excursions with her sister-in-law, Amy Stump.
Surviving are five children: Linda (and spouse Tom) Kelch, Thomas (and spouse Carrie) Stump and Mark (and spouse Christina) Stump, all of Pierceton; Chester (and spouse Susan) Stump, Warsaw; Sherry Stewart, Los Angeles, Calif.; Ronald (and spouse Karen) Stump, Columbia City; two brothers, William Austin, South Whitley, and Jerry (and spouse Carol) Austin, Huntington; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Pierceton Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Mark Fishburn officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
