She was born April 4, 1923, in Syracuse, to Andrew and Anna Mary Rapp Armbruster. In 1953, she married Barney Davis, who died in 1964. In February 1973, she married Harold A. Schrock, who died in October 1978.
She graduated from New Paris High School in 1941 and from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. She was a registered nurse, retiring in 1981 after spending 26 years of her career as the operating room supervisor at Goshen General Hospital. She was a member of the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church and the Syracuse American Legion, serving as president from 1979 to 1989 and as chaplain from 1982 to the present.
"Dear family and friends, by the time you read this, I will have stepped into the presence of my dear Lord and Savior, not because of deeds I have done, but because of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Anyone who trusts and receives Jesus Christ as their personal Savior can only physically die. The real person, the God-created soul, the real me expressed through my body has gone to be with the Lord and will not experience one moment of death. Jesus' resurrection changes everything. What a promise! What a Savior! Jesus said, 'I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.'" John 11:25, 26 (NASB).
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Walt (Barbara) Claeys and Lillian Butt, both of Mishawaka; a brother, Elmer (and wife Doris) Armbruster, Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Edna in 1924, Emma in 1998; a brother, George, in 1996; two stepsons, Terry and Tim Schrock; and a stepdaughter, Sue Schrock.
